SG Weekend

Finally, the trip pushed through; Leelee and I have gone to Singapore to watch Wicked the Musical (and tour around).

So many stories to tell, I’ll find time in the coming days to do so.

Singapore is such an excellent place to go to. Already looking forward to going back.

Wicked at SG

Wicked: the second major play I watched my entire life (first was The Emperor’s New Clothes waaaay back when I was little). Last year, Leelee and I wanted to see Wicked so bad enough that we decided to go to Singapore; hit two (angry) birds with one stone, since we’ve been hoping to go on an overseas trip. Even just for the play, it was very much WORTH THE TRIP! The story, the production, the actresses (and actors), the music, everything was just MAGICAL. Looking forward to seeing it again in the future, in some other country and by another production version.

Meanwhile, it’s back to reality. (That awkward moment when you’re hoping to go back to that other reality.)

Gunpla: Freedom Gundam

Decided to do a serious gunpla painting build. Rawr.

Ordered a Freedom Gundam from Coldfire Gundam @ P2.7k. (Many thanks for the great, hassle-free deal!)

Freedom Gundam, 1/60 Real Detail Grade. I’m very happy with the kit parts and details; less than an MG, but a little better than the usual 1/100 HG.

It’s really taking a long time to do. Haven’t really found the time to do due to the Holiday Season and of course, daily office work. Trying to be patient like the Japs.

At some point, I have to accept that there are some things that I am not. :(

Edited.

There’s that icky feeling when you see your design elsewhere, your name/watermark willfully removed.

Ford’s First 1.0-Liter Three-Cylinder Engine Could End Up in Fiesta

Already amazed by the current specs, but..

  • Ford on Thursday said its first 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine will be launched globally in its small-car lineup and told Inside Line that the engine is appropriate for the Ford Fiesta and Ka.
  • Ford said the EcoBoost 1.0-liter will deliver horsepower and torque equivalents equal to or better than most normally aspirated 1.6-liter gas engines, but did not disclose specific numbers.
  • Ford also announced its first eight-speed automatic transmission and a new hybrid transmission.

seems like the 1+ year wait will be worth it  ♥

(still hatchback, please)

Time to let the warcar rest soon. It’ll be 18YO next year.

We got it when I was in 3rd grade. Starting driving it from late high school up to the present — roughly 6+ years already.

See you in 2012, Hyudai Accent. FIVE DOOR PLEASE.

Kurogane no Linebarrels EP18

•June 20, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Just finished watching episode 18 of Kurogane no Linebarrels. I thought it was a really bad series. I hated the first few episodes — but apparently, I wasn’t uninterested.

Well, I’m a sucker for anime with cute+cool art, renegades, mecha and hot chics.. but what I really like is getting new ideas. (One of the many things I love about Nipponjin‘s.) It was interesting how KnL tackled the idea of imagination.

Italy, for thirty years of war with the Bourgeois, produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did they produce — the Cuckoo Clock.

– Katou Hisataka

BOOM. I will have to check the veracity, but those were very powerful words. To think, this Anime must also appeal to kids half my age. They may not appreciate that now, but eventually, they will. (I personally find it fulfilling to watch certain Anime series I like backed when I was a kid. Like 10+ years after, I still don’t get some parts of Evangelion haha.)

Have yet to finish the series, I hope the end does deliver. It’s starting to get really really interesting. (I have yet to understand the meaning behind the title.)

Logitech MK260

•April 4, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Finally! After months of pondering and searching and indecisiveness, finally got myself a wireless keyboard-mouse set. The Logitech MK260, P1299 c/o Silicon Valley, SM Megamall Cyber Zone. (Silicon Valley had the cheapest price in the area.)

I was comparing this to the Logitech MK320. They’re basically the same, except for a few more multimedia keys and mouse LED indicator for the MK320. It’s also around P300-700 more than the MK260. (More stores had the MK320, priced it higher than Silicon Valley.) And the sleeker/bigger keyboard design of the MK320. However, they’re basically the same. The MK260 also has a longer battery lifespan. And so, I got it instead. Yeah. :)

So far so good. Instantly worked on my HP laptop, Windows 7 OS. No need for additional drivers or installers, which is a big plus for me.

Both keyboard and mouse are very plasticky. Doesn’t feel solid and sturdy. Not really that surprising, it’s like those common budget wired generic keyboards. However, the keys do feel light yet firm, very pleasant to type on. Mouse is smooth, accurate and not picky on surface. Both are not cheapy, but not sensational either. They’re simply “okay.”

One thing that disappointed me was the USB receiver; it was not as big as the usual flash-drive-sized receivers, but I was expecting the Logitech nano unifying receiver. Oh well, for the price, I guess I had to let that one go.

Should you get one? Only if you really want/need the set. Decent and affordable.

Why did I get one? For playing Star Craft 2.. on my 32″ LCD + 5.1 HT. RAWR!!! And maybe some Photoshopping. Since my Imation mouse (c/o CD-R King yeah) was already starting to show signs of weakness (haha), I finally decided to get  a decent set. And here they are. Game on! :)
